Getting to the Space

MIT’s Building W97 is located at 345 Vassar St in Cambridge between Central Square and Kendal Squares, just a few block off of Massachusetts Avenue. It is easily accessible from both Rt. 90 (Mass. Pike) and Rt. 93 and is blocks from many of the city’s famous universities. It is easily walkable from both the Central and Kendall T Stops of the Red Line.  There many city bus lines that run through the area and there are dedicated bike lanes throughout the city.  If you don’t have a bike handy but would to ride, check out the Hubway bike rental service in town. We encourage folks to use bicycles, walk or ride the T whenever possible but if you do decide to drive, please remember that driving and traffic in Boston is notoriously heavy so allow plenty of time to get from points a to b. Of course there are also taxi, uber and lyft services throughout Boston and Cambridge.

Parking

Parking in Boston can be challenging and expensive, so again, we encourage folks to use bicycles, walk or ride the T whenever possible. If you do need to drive, carpooling to and from Lion’s Jaw is great way to save on money and gas. There is metered parking all along Vassar St. and parking is generally ample however we do encourage you to check the meters often- Cambridge ticket’s are PRICEY! There are several parking options within walking distance including a municipal parking lot just off Mass. Ave. There is also some limited metered parking on Massachusetts Avenue and the surrounding streets.
